Some of these are great as cross-over BC's while you are getting started into technical diving and/or can be customized for any recreational / tech cross-over diver’s needs.
A BCD is your best friend in the water. Your Scuba BC (Bouyancy Compensator) allows you to be completely nuetral, and weightless. With a proper fit your BCD allows you to do those things you enjoy doing underwater without having to think too much about it. You know exactly where you have clipped your accessories, and this makes you even more comfortable in the water.
BCs come in many styles and designs, but generally fall into two categories, jacket style and rear inflation. - A jacket style BC means that when inflated, it surrounds your torso like a jacket. Jacket inflation is usually best for divers who need to maintain a vertical orientation or spend a lot of time on the surface.
A Rear inflation BCD has the bladder (The area that inflates) behind the diver. Many divers find this style more comfortable, as it gives additional freedom of movement of your arms, and feels less restrictive when worn. A rear inflation BC also helps divers maintain proper horizontal position while underwater.
